Laboratory Social and Cultural Digital Documentation

The Laboratory of Social & Cultural Digital Documentation (LDCD) began its work in 1994 within the framework of the "Ark of the Aegean" program, at the Department of Social Anthropology of the University of the Aegean with the then title of Laboratory of Social and Cultural Communication and Documentation. Today it operates at the Department of Sociology of the University of the Aegean as LDCD and focuses its research activities on the collection, analysis, documentation and promotion of social and cultural data using New Technologies. It uses a wide range of research techniques to document social and cultural reality, producing research results for scientific and educational purposes. LDCD is based on the collaboration of scientists/researchers of the University of the Aegean, as well as specialized external collaborators. In this context, it plans to create a network of experts in Greece and abroad, in order to participate in its research activities and support the implementation of its goals.
